OOC RulesOOC Rules: Read 'em Follow 'em
Respect- All of these rules come back to that. Respect for one another, respect for the hard work people put in, and respect for having a good time. If you are respectful, then we're golden. If you start any OOC drama-- he said she said, this that the other and have no valid complaint to an ADMIN just spreading gossip among players you will be PERMA BANNED. Characters- We do ask that you post up a character sheet. This is for OOC purposes, and to make sure nobody is overpowered OR underpowered. Now, you can RP without one, but becoming involved in major plots, large scale interactions, or joining any of the group does require us to take in an application and character sheet. No copyrighted characters. (i.e. Mickey Mouse, Goku etc...) The Application, found here, tells us what your character can DO. The Character Sheet, found here, tells us more about who your character IS. OOC- This is a RP-centric dream, let's keep OOC to a minimum. The common use of brackets is acceptable for small comments. If you do have something to tell everyone, use shouts. Shouts are turned on by typing-in the furcadian window. To shout, type-message. Disputes- If you have an issue with someone's IC action, or questions pertaining to it or an OOC comment, take it to whispers to keep it out of the Public Eye. If such disputes cannot be settled amicably, then bring the issue to a staff member, notto the rest of the dream. IC vs. OOC and Alting- First, just because a character does not respond well to yours does not mean that the player does not like you. Remember, what you read on a website is not always what your character knows about another charater! Let's keep Player Knowledge and Character Knowledge seperate. Now, on the subject of Alting. We understand you love all of your babies to death, we do. BUt a few rules need to be set down. First and foremost, your Alts cannot share resources, or information. What one knows does not pass on to another. For this reason, alts should never come into conflict with one another. Try to keep RP between alts to a minimum. Other than that, we ask that players only have one or two alts that are tied into the MAIN plotlines at any one time. However, social RP, sideplots, etc are all open fare. Posting - Use common sense. Please have at least 5 lines per post, this allows other players to respond. We're not elite but please check your grammar and spelling so your posts are clean and clear. Consent, or lack thereof- Simply put, In Character Actions yield In Character Consequences (ICA=ICC for short). If you play your character as an ass, expect rebuttals. If you as a player expect to be able to maim other character's, acknowledge that your's may also be maimed. If you do not consent to Character Death, then A: Do not try to kill other people's characters, and B: Try to avoid playing heavily antagonistic characters. Adult RP- Keep Private Stuff Private. IC cursing, violence, etc are absolutely fine. Adult situations beyond that should be kept private. We have private areas for a reason. Pedophiles will be perm banned, there is zero tolerance for this and that includes age play. Ignore/Silencing Ignoring/silence ruling staff is not allowed. It will most likely get you removed from the dream. Should you feel yourself wanting to do such a thing, please contact another OOC staff member with logs regarding the situation. And Most Importantly - HAVE FUN. Weapons & ArmorIron is the most accessible Metal.
Steel is the most common Alloy. I always see people running around with Mithril this and Mithril that. or Starmetal, Orichalcum, Adamantite. Whatever fictional takes your fancy. This is my final ruling. - ALL Mystical Magical Metals as such will need to be placed in the Character app if they are designed for Combat. A mithril Eyepatch or coronet would not be considered a large item, but a sword of Mithril, Jade, Starmetal, etc, shall be subject to approval. As will any other powerful metal. -The same holds true for ARMOR. As a RULE, mystical Metals CANNOT be combined. They would also have weaknesses, even if such a weakness is just the rarity or cost. Also, Magical Armor is fine and dandy. Let's just keep it all reasonable, eh? Items-Keep everything reasonable. If you've got an eldar dragon soul in a bottle that breathes fire whenever it is opened, We're gonna question that. If you've essence of salamander in a small box that acts as a modern day lighter, well, thats a whole 'nother board game It's all about moderation, guys and dolls.
Other than these small rules and suggestions, there's a few others key to this dream. -COLD IRON - Cold Iron is a rarity. The Bane of the Faefolk, it seems that most Iron in the land has been removed, almsot as if it never existed. Anyone with such a weapon might found themselves under particular scrutiny. -FLINT LOCKS - These are still in the primitive stage and will require preps or tuns in order to load properly. Approval of this item will be dealt with on a case by case basis due to some of the curious demands of players who wish to use said item. Admins and Mods reserve the right to 'remove' flint locks or blackpowder weapons and item from your list if they become a problem with other players. -FAEBOONS - The Fae Folk hold a Market in the town on occasion. It is not marked out by any large displays, but to those who might know of such, it is accessible. They sell Items, trinkets, and other such eccentricities. |

Preps are not to be stored. There is no system in which preps are stored. Yes in D&D spells are prepped but it is not the same. In D&D Prepping means to "prepare your spells you are limited to that day". In Roleplaying in systems like this it means the amount of time it takes for a spell to charge, as in D&D or freeform. Same thing goes for Melee attacks. Preps cannot be stored under any circumstance to be used at a later time. Due to concentration checks for firing into combat, the short answer is: If you do something else, other than concentrating on your attack, it is lost. So if you are hit while charging ANY ability, melee or not, you will lose half of the prep. If it has only charged to 1, you lose all of the prep if struck, unless the opposing party allows a concentration check. if you wish for further details feel free to whisper me on combat lessons in both Magic and Melee. Miscellaneous-Slaves - Here we do not have any laws against slavery. It is perfectly legal to own a slave under the assumption they were not captured and enslaved on the property of Peddlers Hollow. If someone is caught breaking the law such as bandits, thieves etc... you may be sentenced to hard labor without pay. |
